The interrupted burglary happened on Wednesday, Feb. 21 between 10:55 p.m. and 11:15 p.m. at a Yorktown residence in the area of Curry Street and Gomer Street, Yorktown Police announced.

The burglars ran out of the residence after the homeowner pulled into their driveway, prompting a widespread search of the area once authorities arrived. However, the suspects were able to elude search efforts, which lasted into Thursday morning, Feb. 22, police said.

The homeowner and members of law enforcement agencies involved in the search were not injured.

Several police agencies are now continuing the investigation into the incident. Anyone with any information is asked to email Yorktown Police at info@yorktownpd.org.
